Deceit, sham christian conservatives and greedy insurance companies won’t deter universal healthcare

in Healthcare

You’ve heard me say it before- in what other country can you go bankrupt because of medical bills?  Since when did an organ transplant have to be a choice between protecting your family’s assets and living long enough to see your grand kids or ride your first bike.

Compassionate christian conservatives

Well the conservatives and the GOP don’t really care if you don’t have a job with health benefits. In their “christian” (intentional small c) world of “survival-of-the-fittest” it is God’s will that you die if you have no insurance. Well if these passionate people have their way even the insured are not assured protection from bankruptcy.

The Washington Bill tampered with by insurance companies

Consider the WA state bill SB 5725 that has been tampered with by insurance lobbyists that initially would have raised the cap for organ transplants from $250,000 to $350,00. This cap does not apply to other major procedures, only transplants- which are in every case targeted at life threatening illnesses.

Sounds good right? Sounds like something the Democratic WA House would do, right?

Both State Houses passed the bill. BUT after the bill passed both Houses, the insurance lobby tampered with members of the House Health Care Committee who inserted language that would have the costs start immediately upon entering the hospital. This was not the case for the original $250,000 cap. A transplant patient can spend weeks in the hospital waiting for a donor. This small word change means that even the $350,000 will be insufficient. The insurance companies will do better with the new wording and increased cap because before a heart comes in the cost can already exceed $350,000.

All of a sudden Blue Cross supports the amended bill. No shit. How kind of them. The proponents of the original bill, a Spokane Children’s Hospital, have decided to withdraw their support for the bill in defeat. Big Insurance 1- average American 0.

Our healthcare system sucks even for those who have insurance because insurance companies are profiting on human illness. And profiting is the word here. Health insurance companies are among the best investments out there if you are buying stock.

#tcot is prolife but anti-healthcare- go figure

Following #tcot is like following a hearse. These so called christian conservatives who espouse prolife are anyhing but. Its prolife as long as its a fetus, but grow up, serve your country, raise kids, send them to college, go to church and, God forbid, lose your job and where are your christian conservative bothers and sisters then?

Did God deem you were not fit enough to survive in a world lead by the conservative GOP?

Obama will do the right thing

Obama will be undeterred as he applies all means of pressure to deliver on his campaign promises of affordable healthcare for every American. What Kennedy and the Clinton’s have fought for for decades will come to pass. And christian conservatives will be outnumbered again as they were in November. Their petty, cheap, selfish, unchristian “give me a gun but don’t give me healthcare” rhetoric will be over shadowed by a decent Congress that will see to it that the USA moves into the 20th century before the first 21st century decade runs out.

But Obama must not stop there. He must push on in his second term to protect Americans against the greed of insurance companies who put bottom line before life.

Go to hell

There is not one single conservative agrument that stands up to the fact that we are a compasionate country that calls itself Christian, is a world leader in technology innovation and stands for democracy and freedom. If conservatives can not share with their brothers and sisters on this issue of universal healthcare then they can, and will, surely go to hell.

My Son is in the process of being evaluated to be placed on the National Heart Transplant List, now. He is 34 years old, with a Family of two children, 6 and 3 years old. He is also on Title 19 due to his employer not having any Insurance Benefits. What is decided regarding organ transplants will not only affect my Son but many who are in Life-Threatening situations; like my Son. I am praying with all my heart that the Insurance Companies that have reaped Billions of Dollars from Americans will NOT cause the death of thousands due to lack of support or funding for transplants. My Son will soon die without a heart transplant, but if there are any changes in the benefits to receive a heart transplant it will definitely mean his death.

I ask MY GOVERNMENT Leaders to support the People and not Big Business! They have gotten away with murder. It is time to stop this insanity and support the American People that have made this country, GREAT, up until, now.

It will come to a point that we will not need Politicians! Corporations Run this country, not Uncle Sam!
