Time to boycott Rush Limbaugh sponsors

by @dmooney9 10.12.2009

The boycott of Glenn Beck’s sponsors seems to be effective. Last I heard the man was running out of advertising options. CNN, after getting rid of Beck, is now looking to dump Lou Dobbs for much the same reason. Americans might not all love Obama but the vast majority object when their President is [...]

Bipartisanship: The Eulogy

by @Karoli 10.09.2009

A pretty ironic title for a post on a site called Bipartisan Report, isn’t it? Back in January I joined this site with a strong belief that it is possible to have a conversation around issues and not personalities. I even spent time on the phone with Michael P. Leahy, one of the proponents of [...]

What’s wrong and right with America?

by @dmooney9 09.22.2009

Healthcare. It preoccupied us all summer. I took my kids to a healthcare rally – they are 8 and 10. They asked me why I wanted to be someplace where people were so angry. When one woman interrupted the pro public option healthcare  speaker at the liberal  rally (the conservatives were down the street 4 [...]

If pigs and the GOP could fly

by @tregan 09.20.2009

It was a heady moment. This week Eric Cantor, leading GOP House member, said that if an election was held today, the GOP would take control of the House.
And he might be right … if an election was held today.
But I have sad news for Mr. Cantor. There is no election today. There is no [...]

9/12 Movement Sign Glorified Domestic Terrorism

by @rblinne 09.14.2009

There were many offensive signs at the so-called 9-12 rallies, so named as they were supposedly catching the spirit of unity immediately following the attacks on 9/11/2001. One sign, however, crossed an even worse line, inciting domestic terrorism.

This same cut-off quote of Thomas Jefferson was worn by William Kostric who came to a health care [...]

Senator Edward Kennedy – 1932-2009

by @Karoli 08.25.2009

Senator Edward Kennedy has died, one year to the day after he gave a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention. In that speech, he restated the cause he has fought for consistently throughout his years of public service.
And this is the cause of my life — new hope that we will break the old [...]

Why the GOP can’t afford to have Obama succeed on health care

by @tregan 08.21.2009

I’m no big fan of Newt Gingrich, but I also know that he has a lot of political smarts (not that he always uses them appropriately). In the early part of the year, he made a very interesting comment that bares repeating in the midst of the onslaught by the GOP, the teabaggers and the [...]
